Email Tips: Emotional Storms

This "tip" was originally delivered on Saturday, May 7th, 2011 .

Last weeks winds and rain storms caused flooding
throughout Mid-America.

Yesterday the weather was great. The temperature was
warm, the grass was green, the sunset was beautiful.

Being peak tornado season I predict more storms will come.
However, like the proverbial postman I will wake up and work
no matter the forecast.

What keeps my daily work stable is the strong roof over my
head and the stable beams that keep my walls standing.

Emotions are like the weather. Right doctrine is what makes
us stable. If our spiritual life is tossed about with every wind, it
means we need to grow in our understanding (Eph 4:14).

Emotion driven people do not make stable saints. They
are like people without houses: always subject to the weather.
They also change like the weather.

Be stable, learn the Bible rightly divided and build a foundation
on Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery.
If you’re stable help establish others.

For His glory,

Justin “help the homeless” Johnson
