The Bible speaks of a “day of judgment” that is coming when all will give account to God. This Bible truth is as old as Genesis and the warnings of Noah.
Solomon’s last words in Ecclesiastes were, “For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
Jesus said, “That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment” (Matt 12:36).
This judgment day is not merely for the ungodly, unjust, and unbeliever. Everyone will stand before the judgment seat of God. That means me; that means you.
Paul said, “For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God” (Romans 14:10-12).
Judgment day will come for each of us, believe it or not, ready or not. “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
It would be a good idea to learn ahead of that day how God will judge, how we will give account, and what determines the result. Will it be a good day or a bad day? Will it bring remorse or rejoicing? Where does God’s grace fit into it?
