There is a tradition of praying before meals. It is a good tradition.
When people learn right doctrine, they realize what they prayed over food contained wrong or misleading doctrine.
The result: people stop praying, and dinner tables become silent.
Below are some sample prayers to keep a good tradition going.

Lord, you are truly a great God. We are grateful for all the things you have created to enjoy on and around this table.Amen.
We are grateful for another day of living, working, talking, and thinking. Without you we could not do any of these good works, neither enjoy the good food in this meal today. We love you and give you the glory found in every thing made here. Amen.
We thank you for the meat, spices, and vegetables that we have for food and for making them go so well together. Thank you for minds that can learn great recipes and for the cooks that prepared them graciously for us. Amen.
Thank you for the meat we eat, and for giving us a family and friends to eat it with. Amen.
God, before we eat we want to pause and honor you, who created all things, and gave us life, forgiveness, and salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
For His glory,
Justin Johnson
