Jesus is coming.
No, I don’t mean in a manger. He already did that a long while ago. He grew up. He moved on in his purpose. So should we (2 Cor 5:16; Gal 6:14).
I refer to his coming back to receive his church, rule the nations, and establish his kingdom in both heaven and earth.
What a day that will be … and it is coming.
No more fraud, deception, cheating, greed, pornography, or gossip.
No more children disobeying parents, nor parents placating every childish whim.
No more compromise with error. No more chasing the course of the world looking for acceptance.
And I’m just talking about in the church! Glory to God.
When Jesus returns, this world will no longer have political fighting, false religion, economic depression, broken homes, abortion clinics, or hospitals.
Every ruler, king, principality and power will have been saved by the Lord Jesus Christ and appointed by the Lord of Glory himself.
Never again will we be disappointed at the powers that be.
Never again will we worry for health, peace, safety, provision, or the “future of our country” when Jesus comes.
There will be no need to filter through the filth and error permeating media, music, and education looking for what is true, God-honoring, and edifying.
Daily headlines will no longer record the consequences of sin destroying this world. Instead, there will be daily reports of the Lord’s presence restoring righteousness, peace, and joy.
I so look forward to his coming and hearing the news each day after.
If anyone is looking for hope in Mary or the manger, they need to turn around and look the other way. The manger is as empty today as the tomb. He grew up. He died. He is risen and in glory, waiting to return. We are told to look there.
“Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity…” – Titus 2:13
Our hope is in heaven with our Lord who is coming back. One day our hope will be seen. When Jesus comes, it will turn this world upside down. It will be the greatest news since he dispensed his saving grace!
“For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ” – Philippians 3:20
Until then, the good news is that all who trust the grace of Christ will be saved from the just eradication of evil when he comes. His grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts in this present world, because Jesus is coming (Titus 2:11-15).
Hopefully soon,
