Would you rather get from God what you have earned, or be given what you couldn’t possibly afford?
Are you satisfied with what you earn? Certainly God would not be satisfied by what you do either.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” – Ephesians 2:8-9
You can be saved by God’s grace (his work on your behalf) and have your sin debt paid. Why wouldn’t you?
