“The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.” – 2 Timothy 2:6
Before you can plant the seed of the gospel, you must first be saved.
Before you can preach faithfulness to others, you must first be faithful.
Before you see fruit grow in others, you must first see fruit grow in yourself.
Before you can teach your children to walk in truth, you must first walk in it.
If you want to minister the word of God to others, the word of God must be first ministered to you.
Timothy first heard and was faithful to the message before he was told to commit it to others (2 Tim 2:2).
Want to serve the Lord? Want to engage in ministry? Start with yourself. Next, your spouse. Then, your family, but you first.
“Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.” – 1 Timothy 4:16
