What is the meaning of life?

One of the big questions of life, and a frequently asked question by young energetic people looking for their place in the world:

“What is the meaning of life?”

The response of the world is either “there is no meaning”, or “whatever you find meaningful”, which does not help in the slightest.

Perhaps it is not about the answer, but more about the journey, as eastern religions have taught for centuries and as Deep Thought taught the Galaxy in the Hitchhiker’s Guide. (The answer was 42, but the question was unknown.)

No. The answer is simply revealed in the Bible rightly divided.

The meaning of life is to know God and receive his blessings graciously.

God created life for this purpose which Paul calls the “mystery of his will” in Ephesians 1:9-10.

The way God purposed for us to know him and receive his blessings graciously is through the Lord Jesus Christ.

Do you see the importance of preaching Jesus Christ according to this revelation?

In it is the meaning of life, the manifold wisdom of God, the purpose of God, and his will for you.

How do you start to know God and receive his blessings graciously?

Hear the gospel of Christ, trust it for your salvation, and respond with thanksgiving (Eph 1:13).

Then, continue to grow in the knowledge of God and his grace, in every thing with thanksgiving, which is God’s will concerning you (1 Thess 5:18; 1 Tim 2:4).

For His glory,

Justin Curtis Johnson
