The greatest college basketball coach in NCAA history said:
“Five years from now, you are the same person except for the people you’ve met and the books you’ve read.” – John Wooden
All the more reason to learn to study the Bible, participate in a Bible believing grace church, and do the work of the ministry: seeing souls saved and saints edified.
Have you met Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery? Have you been reading Gods word rightly divided?
If you want to change for the better, the word of God will effectually work in you that believe(1 Thess 2:13).
This is why John Wooden’s father told him when he graduated elementary, “Drink deeply from good books, especially the Bible.”
When you study God’s words, and let it conform you into the image of His Son, you will be a different person five years from now.
The trite saying is, “People never change.”
John Wooden explained why: they have not trusted Christ, and have not spent time in his book. They remain the same.
Don’t let this year be the same as last year. Learn to study God’s word rightly divided. Be faithful. Expect to change.
For His glory,
Justin “changed” Johnson
