I found three instruction manuals on my desk the other day
for items that I was going to replace. I never read the manuals.
It is hard for people to read the instructions when they think they
can do it on their own.
Similarly, it is not uncommon for the “Christian” experience to focus
on a worthy walk for the Lord before understanding the doctrine.
Yet your spiritual growth will not occur without a greater knowledge
and understanding of sound doctrine.
Colossians 1:9-10 explains that before we will be able to walk worthy
we must know a few things about God’s will. Paul then writes
the next 3 chapters on God’s will and instructions.
It is important that we study first before trying to walk for the Lord.
When we study it out we will find that the way we were going to
walk is the opposite of they way God instructs us to.
In fact, it’s probably better if you just sit down and recognize that
although you may be able to setup your printer, you cannot
walk in Christ on your own (Col 2:6, Gal 2:20).
For his glory,
