Email Tips: Preach to People with Pastors

This "tip" was originally delivered on Saturday, July 12th, 2014 .

At our fair booth we have enlarged some tracts and placed them on a wall so that passers by can see them at a distance.

One that catches a lot of attention says “Half of Pastors Don’t Believe the Bible“. The title is based on information from pollster George Barna.

Some people stop and testify that they have experienced exactly what the poster says.
Some shake their head in disbelief.
For others it confirms their distrust of authority figures.

No matter the response each one is an opportunity to present the gospel.

Although half of pastors do not have a Biblical worldview, the same report indicates less than 1 of 10 people in the pew have a Biblical worldview.

The condition of the pulpits is shameful, but the condition of the pews is deplorable.

“That’s right! But my church ain’t one of those!”

“That’s good. What is the gospel you learn at your church?”

More than 9 times out of 10 you will be talking to someone who doesn’t know, but is waiting on the Lord, listening to God’s voice, or thinks Jesus is their nanny.

That’s the time to talk about sin, salvation, and the gospel of Christ.

People need the gospel! Most of them have pastors.

If you know the gospel and can explain it clearly, you can do the work pastors don’t.

You can use our tracts, articles, charts to do this work.

For His glory,

Justin “preach the word!” Johnson
