This email has suggested before that new students of the Bible should read Romans first. Romans contains foundational material about the gospel of Christ.
Over the past 8 months we have studied Romans 1-8 verse by verse on Tuesday nights.
With the link below you can find all of the outlines, MP3s, and videos.

As we started chapter 9 there was a need to understand Israel’s position in time past, and so for the next couple months on Tuesday we will be studying some Old Testament passages.
All scripture is profitable and necessary for our learning.
Romans is a good place to start with the gospel. Another benefit is that studying Romans will lead you into studying all scripture with Paul’s foundation (1 Cor 3:10-11).
If more people would start with Romans instead of the Old Testament book of Matthew or John perhaps we would have less people building on Peter’s foundation.
Those who have spent years studying the Bible without knowing how to rightly divide know that it is hard to change your perspective. It is hard to start over.
Where you start changes your perspective.
For His glory,
