Melody. Definition – An agreeable succession of sounds (1828 Webster’s Dictionary)
When your heart makes a melody (Eph 5:19) it requires that all the notes be with one voice, not in discord.
If you believe one thing and do another; this is discord. Perhaps you teach one thing and pray another; this is also discord. Singing songs to God that do not align with sound doctrine is discord.
God wants our behavior, our prayers, our relationships, and our songs to sing with one voice. They should all be in doctrinal agreement. It’s only in this environment that we can produce melody in our hearts unto the Lord.
