In the beginning was God.
God is eternal, loving, just, holy, wise, almighty, true, good, and glorious.
God was not obligated to create the world (Gen 1:1). If he had never created the world, God would still be eternal, loving, just, holy, wise, almighty, true, good, and glorious.
God was not obligated to reconcile the sin-cursed world to himself (2 Cor 5:19). If he had never reconciled the world, God would still be eternal, loving, just, holy, wise, almighty, true, good, and glorious.
Consider this. God could have left us to face the consequences of our sins in death forever and God would still be eternal, loving, just, holy, wise, almighty, true, good, and glorious. God had no obligation.
Sinners facing the consequences of their sin in death and hell is not God’s problem; it is ours.
This means God is not obligated to save anyone. He would still be love, even if he did not give salvation to anyone. (If he must save you to be a loving God, then he needs you to prove himself. We are not that important.)
Sinners deserve death. Sinners deserve to perish. God was not obligated to save sinners, which is what makes salvation by grace.
This is the basis of the gospel of the grace of God which teaches that God chose to commend his love through Christ who died for our sins, while we were sinners, so that the preaching of the cross would save them that believe. (1 Cor 1:18; 1 Cor 1:21; Rom 3:25-26; Romans 5:8).
Praise God for His love and grace,
