Evangelizing with Charity

God’s will is to see souls saved and saints edified (1 Tim 2:4).

Neither task is advanced by pretentious know-it-alls that only want to argue and prove the other wrong.

Even worse is waffling inquisitor that has no conviction about doctrines and constantly raises doubts instead of providing answers from the Bible rightly divided.

Ministry work is charity work: it is neither high minded, heady, nor easily provoked. It is patient, kind, and fully persuaded of the truth (1 Cor 13:6).

If you don’t yet have the answers, keep your mouth shut and study. If you think you have some answers do not present them as if you you get a prize for knowing it first.

Communicate answers as if you were giving food to a hungry man, with a motivation to help, not to gloat.

More important than knowing the answers, is knowing how to present them. Knowing the right message and delivering it with the right heart are two very different things.

For His glory,

Justin Curtis Johnson
