To David the law taught the wisdom and salvation of God.
As a result, the law was his delight day and night (Psalm 119:174).
We are not under David’s covenants nor are we under the law.
Yet, we have a greater opportunity to delight in the revelation of
the mystery of Christ.
By it we have a present possession of salvation and in Jesus
are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Col 2:2).
We have something greater than the law in which David
delighted. We possess wisdom that David did not have (1 Cor 2:7)
Christians should not be without joy, nor should our chief delight be
in the law of God. Find your delight in the mystery of Christ as it has
the power to change men’s lives and do what the law could not:
“But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord
Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto
the world.” Gal 6:14
“Rejoice evermore.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:16
For his glory,
