Our seminar does not finish until tomorrow. Likewise, Israel’s New Covenant is not yet finished. There are still parts of the agreement that are unfulfilled.

Covenants by their nature are incomplete.

This is why they exist. There is something that one or more parties promises to do for the other that is not yet done. If it were already done, then there would no longer be a need for a covenant.

Paul says you are “complete in Christ” (Col 2:10). You cannot be under a covenant if you are already complete.

Those in a covenant are waiting for its fulfillment.

In the case of Israel’s New Covenant, the blood has been shed to dedicate the covenant, but we must all wait for their covenanted salvation and kingdom to come with Christ (1Pet 1:5; Heb 9:28; Heb 13:14).

The New Covenant is incomplete until Christ returns to Earth to fulfill it. But today, every saved member of the Body is complete in the fulness of Christ who dwells in Heaven.

We can be complete in Christ because we were not promised an earthly kingdom. We can have salvation now because our salvation is freely given in Christ himself, without a covenant.

Putting yourself in an incomplete covenant robs you of your complete position in Christ.

In the end, all will be complete in Christ according to the will of God (Eph 1:10).

More on this subject tomorrow morning at our seminar, I promise you.

See you there,

Justin “complete in Christ” Johnson
