Conviction

This originally appeared as an email delivered on

People do amazing things when they become convicted
about something.

When people are convicted their lifestyle changes, their
attitude changes, and work gets done. The world knows
this and creates self-help systems about the power of
belief.

Most Christians are not convicted about what they believe.
They have faith opinions. They fall on one side of the fence
but it was almost by accident.

Conviction is what forces you to take action on something
you believe to be true. It comes from making something
the most important thing in your life. It cannot be faked.

If you want to see tremendous growth in your spiritual life
become convicted about the Bible rightly divided. When
you are fully convinced that the Bible is the word of God
it will work effectually in you (1 Thess 2:13).

If knowing God and his will are not important to you then
you will not have conviction. People with conviction will
either irritate you or encourage you.

Be fully persuaded in your own mind. Be convicted of
God’s word. Serve the Lord.

For His glory,

Justin Curtis Johnson
