Description:
Due to a scheduling change, we took a short break in our verse by verse study of Isaiah. In the interim, this lesson surveys references to Isaiah in the “New Testament” portion of scripture. Isaiah prophesied of the revelation of Christ and Israel’s response. In Matthew through Acts, we see how these prophecies are fulfilled. Why, then, does Paul reference Isaiah? Not only does he use Isaiah to look back at what happened in Israel when Christ was revealed according to prophecy, but also to contrast how Paul preached Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery.
