GRACE AMBASSADORS

Children: One Foundation Two Pillars

Our older children’s class (5-10 yrs.) spends several weeks on this activity to learn the details of God’s two-fold purpose for heaven and earth in Christ. The video above is a few years old now, but the product of their hard work and study is the same.

Each block represents a different doctrine. As each doctrine is learned it is put in its proper place to reveal the mystery of God’s will (Eph 1:9).

First, the foundation is laid for all which is Christ (1 Cor 3:11), but Christ can be taught according to prophecy or according to mystery. So, there are two pillars representing God’s two-fold purpose in Christ.

Peter laid the foundation of Jesus Christ as the fulfillment of God’s promised Messiah to Israel for covenant salvation (Acts 2:36). Paul laid the foundation of the mystery of Christ crucified as the Saviour unto all for salvation by grace without the law.

The prophecy pillar consists of the law, Israel, and the earth for a destination. The mystery pillar consists of the grace, the church, and heaven as a destination.

It ends with all things, heaven and earth, bringing glory to God the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ (Rom 16:27, Phil 2:11).

“That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him” – Eph 1:9-10
