On the cover or spine of many printed Bibles it says “Holy Bible”. This is contrary to a culture that thinks nothing is holy any more.
Holy means sacred, sanctified, set apart from others by its perfection, purity, or position.
God is holy. Everything God says is holy.
The world delights in profanity (to abuse holy things), and many Christians have followed their lead.
The reason the Bible should not be treated as any other book is because it is holy. If Christians don’t treat it as holy, then why would others?
“The Bible has mistakes.” : You mean the Holy Bible?
The reason the Bible is an authority above all others is because it is holy. If Christians don’t treat it as holy, why would others?
“It doesn’t matter what the Bible says. It’s just an old book.” : You mean the Holy Bible?
When there is nothing left that is holy in society, and everything has been profaned, then there will be nothing of supreme importance that matters to anyone.
Referring to the “Holy Bible” in our conversations will raise the fundamental question of what is most important, and what is holy.
Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Rom 10:17). The only reason to believe the Bible is because it is the holy word from a Holy God.
Belief in the Holy Bible will set you apart.
