For centuries the debate between Calvinists and Arminians has raged. However, the debate between free will and fate did not originate in the 16th century with Calvin nor even with Augustine in the 4th century. Free will vs determinism is a philosophical topic that stretches all the way back to the Greek philosophers before Christ. Calvinists and Arminians blend Greek philosophy with Bible that is not rightly divided. The result is a confused church.
